On May 18, 2020, Palmetto Bay issued Emergency Order 03-20, to open Coral Reef Park and Palmetto Bay Park.  On June 8th, the Village issued Emergency Order 05-20, as amended, reopening all other park facilities to include, Perrine Wayside (dog) Park, Thalatta Estate Park and Ludovici Park effective Tuesday, June 9th at 7 am.  Certain restrictions, including social distancing requirements and the use of facial coverings under certain scenarios still apply. 

The order allows for the opening of the Perrine Wayside (dog) Park, including its parking lot at a capacity of 25% in accordance with County Emergency Order 21-20, Amendment 3. By county order, dogs are to be "leashed in all areas of the park."

In addition, the Village's new order allows for the reopening of the grounds and trail at Ludovici Park and the reopening of Thalatta Estate Park, also under the same 25% parking lot capacity requirement. The Village will also open restrooms facilities for use by one person or one family at  a a time.  

Open activities at Village parks as applicable include, walking, jogging, cycling, skating, nature walks on trails, and sports skills practice and drills in groups of less than 10.  Youth sports and programming of no more than 10 athletes/ participants and other personnel for skills and drills only with adequate spacing is also allowed.  All amenities at the parks are open except for playgrounds, exercise equipment and picnic shelters/pavilions.  Field lighting will  remain off and water fountains will remain out of service.  

Modified park hours are as follows:
  • Coral Reef Park: Monday to Sunday; 7 am to 8 pm
  • Palmetto Bay Park: Monday to Sunday; 7 am to 8 pm
  • Perrine Wayside (dog) Park: Monday to Sunday; 8 am to Sundown (except for the 2nd & 4th Tuesdays monthly when the park will open at noon)
  • Ludovici Park: Hours to match library hours*
  • Thalatta Estate Park: Sunday to Thursday; 8 am to 5 pm and Friday to Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm.
*all Miami-Dade County libraries opened to the public as of June 8, 2020.

JULY 4TH CELEBRATION:  The Independence Day celebration has been canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.  Unfortunately, we are unable to plan this type of public event while still adhering to the social distancing guidelines that are still in place by the CDC.
