About the Charter Revision Commission
The Palmetto Bay Village Council appointed five individuals to serve on the Charter Revision Commission, May 4, 2015. This important Commission is tasked with the responsibility of reviewing the Village Charter and offering amendments or revisions in order for the Council to consider submitting the Charter Amendments to the electors of the Village at the November 2016 General Election (Charter, Section 6.2).
The Commission has concluded its regular meeting schedule and has provided its recommendations for Charter Amendments to the Village Council.
This Commission has completed its task and has been sunset. A new committee will be established to review the Village Charter once again in 2021.For more information about the Charter Revision Commission, please contact the Office of the Village Clerk.
Mayor Flinn additionally appointed Vice Mayor John DuBois to serve as the non-voting member of this Commission. This Commission is bound by the State of Florida Sunshine Laws.
Meetings are generally held at Village Hall, 9705 E Hibiscus Street, Palmetto Bay, FL, but are subject to change. Any person may contact the Village Hall at 305-259-1234 for information. Any meeting may be opened and continued and, under such circumstances, additional legal notice would not be provided. The Commission has concluded its regular meeting schedule as of June 2015.

Committee Recommendations & Proposed Charter Amendments
The Charter Commission has completed its task to review the Village Charter and provided its recommendations to the Village Council on June 15, 2016 for certain updates and changes to the Village Council. See the recommendations considered by the Village Council.
At the July 11th, 2016 Council Meeting, the Village Council adopted Resolution 2016-56 relating to the adopted Village Charter Amendments and Annexation Question with the proposed ballot language to be placed on the ballot and submitted to the electors.
