ZONING HEARING/PUBLIC HEARING

The Village of Palmetto Bay shall conduct a Zoning Hearing on Monday, September 23, 2019, at 7:00 p.m. The Zoning Hearing shall be held at Village Hall, 9705 East Hibiscus Street, Council Chambers, Palmetto Bay, Florida. Discussion and public input will be welcomed concerning the following item that may be of interest to your immediate neighborhood.
Pursuant to Section 30-30.7 of the Village’s Code of Ordinances, the Village of Palmetto Bay proposes to adopt the following Ordinance on First Reading during the Public Hearing:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF PALMETTO BAY, FLORIDA, RELATING TO ZONING; AMENDING THE ZONING MAP, REFERRED TO IN SEC. 30-10.5, TO CHANGE FROM “AGRICULTURAL” (“AG”) TO “SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL” (“R-1”) (ONE UNIT PER 7,500 NET SQ FEET)(FOLIO # 33-5028-000-0160) PROPERTY ADDRESS 8995 SW 158th StREET, PALMETTO BAY, FLORIDA 33157; PROVIDING FOR CONFLICTING PROVISIONS AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
During the Zoning Hearing, the Village Council will also consider the agenda items that were deferred from the Regular Council Meeting Agenda of Monday, September 9, 2019. The following Ordinance for Second Reading requiring a public hearing shall be heard during the Zoning Hearing:
AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF PALMETTO BAY, FLORIDA, RELATING TO MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARIES; CREATING SECTION 30-60.32; ADDRESSING MEDICAL CANNABIS DISPENSARIES, MEDICAL MARIJUANA TREATMENT FACILITIES, AND INDEPENDENT TESTING LABORATORIES WITHIN THE MUNICIPAL BOUNDARIES OF THE VILLAGE OF PALMETTO BAY; ALLOWING AND REGULATING MEDICAL MARIJUANA DISPENSARIES ONLY ON THE BUSINESS DISTRICT LIMITED (B-1) ZONE ALONG US1 AND NO LESS THAN 1,000 FEET FROM A SCHOOL, PLACE OF WORSHIP OR PARK, AND NO LESS THAN 1 MILE FROM ANOTHER DISPENSING FACILITY; AND PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE.
