Councilmember for a Day

Two local youth spent the day learning how local government works in the Village of Palmetto. Trevor Morrow, a rising 7th grader, and Eitan Greenberg, a rising 4th grader and the former 3rd grade representative for his class at Beth Am, got an up close and personal look at what goes on in Village Hall. The pair were invited by District 1 Councilwoman Karyn Cunningham to spend the day visiting departments and meeting with village staff and charter officers. They learned the roles of the different departments including Parks and Recreation, Planning and Zoning, and our Police. They also spent time with the Village Clerk and Village Manager and met with Charles Noguera, a Miami Palmetto Senior High student and the Chair of the Village's Youth Community Engagement Board.
