Few Free Trees Still Available for Residents
Wonderful weather contributed to the success of this year's "Shade Palmetto Bay" event, Jan. 21. Several hundred residents came out to pick up free trees, compliments of our generous sponsors (see below). If you missed the event, we still have some remaining trees. Please read on for instructions on how to obtain your a free tree from the Village Public Works Department, while supplies last.

Remaining trees are available for pick up on a first-come, first-serve basis, Monday - Friday, 9 am - 4 pm. Please call Public Works department (305-969-5011). Remember to bring your photo ID showing you are a Palmetto Bay resident. Tree-planting instructions and other planting/care instructions are also available.

5th-Grade Arbor Day Poster Contest
5th Artwork Deadline: Jan. 13
Artwork Judging: Jan. 17
Awards Ceremony: Jan. 20
Fifth-grade students at five local elementary schools competed for top honors in the Village's annual Arbor Day Poster Art Contest. Winning entries were judged and announced by the Palmetto Bay Tree Advisory Board on Jan. 17.
1st Place Winner: Annie Perez of Westminster Christian School
2nd Place Winner: Amber Nolan of Coral Reef Elementary
3rd Place Winner: Annie Delgado of Perrine Elementary Elementary
First place winner's school will be honored with an Arbor Day tree planing by Mayor Shelley Stanczyk and the Village Council on Friday, Jan. 20, in the Westminster schoolyard at 9 a.m. Winning entries will be displayed at Village Municipal Center. Special thanks to participating Board members
