The Village Clerk serves as our Elections Supervisor. A municipal General Election for candidates and a Special Election to consider Charter Amendments is scheduled for November 8, 2016. In this election, candidates may qualify for the Vice Mayor and Councilmember-Seat 2. Need more information?
Public Records Requests
The Village of Palmetto Bay is subject to the provisions of Florida's Open Government or "Sunshine" Laws which require certain governmental agencies, such as Palmetto Bay, to make records available to the general public for inspection and/or copying, unless specifically exempted by the Florida Legislature. Please note that the law requires for records that are maintained in the course of official village buiness be made available for public inspection, it does not require for a record to be created pursuant to a request. In other words, if the record does not exist, a new record will not be created.
To inspect a public record or request copies, contact the Village Clerk's office to make your request by phone or email.
You may also complete the Public Records Request Form and submit it via email or fax to the Village Clerk's office.
A staff member from the Village Clerk's office will contact you if the public record that you requested does not exist, or if there is a cost involved with your request.

The Village Clerk is one of the three Chartered positions in the Village appointed by the Village Council. Reporting directly to the Council, the Village Clerk serves as secretary for the Village Council and of the Municipal Corporation. The responsibilities of the Village Clerk in the Village of Palmetto Bay are as follows:
Gives notice of all Council meetings to its members and the public, and shall maintain an accurate record of all Council proceedings;
Maintains the seal of the Village and attest the Mayor’s or the Manager’s signature, as the case may be, on all documents;
Serves as the municipal Supervisor of Elections;
Administers the publication of the Village Code and Charter;
Maintains custody of the Village’s vital records including agreements, contracts, minutes, ordinances, proclamations, and resolutions;
Functions as the Information Technology Coordinator; and
Manages all Public Information Requests
