Council Meetings

Regular Council Meeting/Public Hearing
Monday, April 6, 2015 - 7 pm

The Village of Palmetto Bay shall be conducting a regular Council meeting on Monday, April 6, 2015, at approximately 7:00 pm. The meeting shall be held at the Village Hall Chambers, 9705 E. Hibiscus Street, Palmetto Bay, FL 33157.  During this meeting, the Village Council will hold public hearings to consider the following items:

The following Resolution shall be considered after public hearing:

A RESOLUTION OF THE MAYOR AND VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF PALMETTO BAY, FLORIDA, CO-DESIGNATING SW 156 STREET FROM SW 89 AVENUE WEST TO US-1 IN HONOR OF HARRY TROEGER; PROVIDING FOR INSTALLATION OF APPROPRIATE SIGNAGE; PROVIDING FOR AN EFFECTIVE DATE. (Sponsored by Mayor Eugene Flinn)

The following Ordinance shall be heard on second reading:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF PALMETTO BAY, FLORIDA, RELATING TO TRAFFIC; AMENDING VILLAGE CODE CHAPTER 28, ARTICLE II, CONCERNING GOLF CART USE ON CERTAIN DESIGNATED STREETS OR ROADS, PROVIDING FOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT, CODIFICATION, SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. (Councilman Tim Schaffer)

And, a public hearing on the Proposed Zoning District Boundary Change:

The following item is being considered pursuant to Division, 30-30.7 of the Village’s Land Development Code to be heard on first reading, as follows:

AN ORDINANCE OF THE MAYOR AND VILLAGE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF PALMETTO BAY, FLORIDA, RELATING TO ZONING; AMENDING THE OFFICIAL ZONING MAP TO REFLECT A DISTRICT BOUNDARY ZONE; CHANGING A PORTION OF 15840 SW 89TH AVENUE, BEARING FOLIO NUMBER 33-5028-000-0191, CHANGING .27 ACRES (+/-) OF THE TOTAL 1.76 ACREAGE FROM AGRICULTURAL TO SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENTIAL DISTRICT; PROVIDING FOR ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT, CODIFICATION, SEVERABILITY AND AN EFFECTIVE DATE. (First public hearing)

THE APPLICATION MAY BE AMENDED BASED UPON THE REQUEST OF THE APPLICANT PRIOR TO THE PUBLIC HEARINGS OR MAY BE AMENDED AT THE PUBLIC HEARINGS PRIOR TO FINAL DECISION OF THE VILLAGE COUNCIL. ALL SUBMITTED PLANS ARE AVAILABLE FOR REVIEW AT THE VILLAGE’S PLANNING AND ZONING DEPARTMENT.

Pursuant to Section 286.0105, F.S., if any person decides to appeal any decision by the Village Council with regard to this or any matter, he/she will need to ensure that a verbatim record of the proceedings is made, which record includes the testimony and evidence upon which the appeal is to be based.  This notice does not constitute consent by the Village for the introduction or admission of otherwise inadmissible evidence, nor does it authorize challenges or appeals not otherwise allowed by law.

Zoning Hearing
Monday, April 20, 2015 - 7 pm

The Village of Palmetto Bay shall conduct a zoning public hearing on Monday, April 20, 2015, at 7:00 p.m.  Discussion and public input will be welcomed concerning the following hearing item which may be of interest to your immediate neighborhood.

The following item is being considered pursuant to Division 30-30.6 of the Village’s Land Development Code:

Downtown Redevelopment Task Force Meetings

The Downtown Redevelopment Task Force (DRTF) encourages homeowner associations and/or other civic groups to obtain accurate, up-to-date information about the downtown redevelopment initiative in Palmetto Bay by scheduling a “roadshow” presentation by Village staff and Task Force members. The DRTF, an advisory group organized by the Village Manager in early 2013, is comprised of 40 neighbors and professionals. They are working to set the foundation for a live/work/play Downtown District along U.S. 1 in the Village's southwest corner, while preserving the fundamentally residential nature of Palmetto Bay.
