South-Dade Celebrates Independence Day

Palmetto Bay Co-Sponsors Annual Event at Black Point

PAMETTO BAY, JUNE 19, 2012 -- Celebrate independence, healthy living, and the great outdoors at the 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular at Black Point Park & Marina, 24775 SW 87th Avenue in Cutler Bay, on Wednesday, July 4. Palmetto Bay residents are invited to spend a day of fun enjoying the parks’ boat ramps, dockside restaurant and bar, bikeways, jogging trails, and more. The day will conclude with a waterfront fireworks show at 9 p.m.

The Village of Palmetto Bay celebrates its third year in a row as a primary sponsor of the annual South-Dade Fireworks Spectacular. Other generous sponsors including Publix Super Market Charities, Miami-Dade County Commissioner Lynda Bell, Town of Cutler Bay, Black Point Ocean Grill, Old Cutler Towne Center, Southland Mall, Sunstate Bank, HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital of Miami, Mercedes of Cutler Bay, Cutler Bay Business Association, Main Street Children’s Dentistry and Orthodontics, Black Point Yacht & Sailing Club, and Weiss Serota Helfman Pastoriza Cole & Boniske.

Park users, particularly boaters, should be aware of the following Independence Day weekend restrictions:

  • Black Point Channel will be CLOSED from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Wednesday, July 4th.
  • No overflow parking for trailers on WEDNESDAY, so parking is limited.
  • Ramps open at 6:00 a.m. daily.
  • Vehicles will not be allowed to enter or exit the park during the Fireworks show.
