Biography
Councilmember Ed Feller, MD, is the Councilmember for District 1 of the Village, which includes
the area north of SW 152 Street to SW 136 Street. He
is the Council Liaison for Parks and Recreation for the
Village and has been closely involved in the significant
development of parks and playgrounds over the past three
years. He was an original member of the Village Steering
Committee and was active with it throughout its seven
year history that led to our incorporation.
Dr. Feller is a gastroenterologist who has been practicing
in our community for the past 32 years and has been very
involved with Baptist Hospital in the field of Quality
and Process Improvement. He has been president of the
Florida Society of Internal Medicine, the Florida Gastroenterology
Society and was a long-term Board Member of the Florida
Medical Association. He was the president of the Dade
County Medical Association at the time of Hurricane Andrew
and was intensively involved in the relief efforts. Dr.
Feller and his wife, Arlene, have two children and four
grandchildren. They love to travel, are interested in
photography and enjoy doing graphic art on their computer.

Accomplishments
A member of the original Village Council now in his second term as Councilmember, Dr. Feller has been fully committed to achieving excellence in municipal service and supporting projects that enhance the quality of life of Village residents. With the support of the Council, Dr. Feller has sponsored legislation urging the State to move forward on the property insurance issue plaguing the state and Palmetto Bay in particular.
Dr. Feller currently serves as the Council Liaison to the parks and recreation division and has been instrumental in the planning and future development of the Palmetto Bay neighborhood library and community room.
