Palmetto Bay Mayor Eugene P. Flinn, Jr., and Cutler Bay Mayor Paul Vrooman are partnering with Commissioner Katy Sorenson to host a free Hurricane Preparedness Workshop in Palmetto Bay on June 21, 1 p.m. - 3 p.m., at the Deering Estate Visitors Center (16701 S.W. 72 Ave.). Hurricane preparedness information, safety tips, and lots of giveaways will be available to all attendees. Residents may can also bring their old showerheads and exchange them for newer, high efficiency models (supplies are limited).

Special guest Max Mayfield, former director of the National Hurricane Center, will be the featured speaker. Also attending the workshop will be representatives from Florida Power & Light, South Florida Water Management District, and the State Attorney’s Office.
