About the Vice Mayor
In accordance with the Village Charter, in the absence or incapacity of the Mayor, the Vice Mayor has all the powers, authority, duties, and responsibilities of the Mayor.
The Vice Mayor is part of the Village Council, the legislative body of the Village. The Council is vested with all decision-making powers, including the responsibility of enacting ordinances, adopted the Village budget and establishing policies for the operation of the Village government and delivery of municipal service.
Biography-Brian W. Pariser
Vice Mayor Brian Pariser is a commercial and civil lawyer. He and his wife, Cathy, have three children and have been residents of Palmetto Bay since 1992. Vice Mayor Pariser graduated from the University of Miami Law School in 1974 and received his undergraduate degree from Syracuse University.
Accomplishments
Vice Mayor Pariser was elected on November 2, 2008. He has been a community activist for many years, most importantly, serving as part of the group who led the Village to incorporation from 1995-2002. He continued to remain committed to the Village’s mission by serving with with his neighbors on the Long Range Planning Committee, the Village Hall/Police Complex Advisory Committee, and Palmetto Bay ’s Charter Review Committee. He has also been fortunate to have served on a variety of panels and committees -- both government and civic -- which have directly impacted the safety, zoning and growth of our surrounding community, including:
- Blue Ribbon Miami-Dade County Mitigation Adjustment Policy Review Task Force 2007
- Metro Dade County Kendall Incorporation Feasibility Advisory Committee 1994-1995
- Participant in the Dadeland Area, Burger King property and Franjo Road/Island Charettes
- Metro Dade Citizens Advisory Committee on Countrywide Incorporation 1991-92
- Vice Chair of the Chamber South Chamber of Commerce 1995-1998
- Dade County Fair Campaign Practices Committees 1986-1996
- Director of Chamber South Dade South Miami Chamber of Commerce 1992-1994
- President of Kendall Federation of Homeowners Associations 1985-86
