Traffic Calming Criteria for Speed Tables
Below is the Traffic Calming Criteria employed to determine the need for the installation of traffic calming devices such as speed tables. The criteria was based on the Traffic Calming Analysis Methodology as provided on Section 2.0 of the Village-wide Traffic Master Plan, which was approved by the Village Council with the adoption of Resolution No. 2018-20. TRAFFIC CALMING CRITERIA
*85th percentile speed is above the posted speed limit. The 85th percentile speed is defined as "the speed that is exceeded by 15% of the motorists surveyed.
*Number of vehicles within a 24-hour period.

TRAFFIC CALMING CRITERIA
Determination:
- 2.0 total points: a traffic study is required to determine whether the area is eligible for traffic calming device(s).
- 2.5 total points or greater: area automatically qualifies for traffic calming device(s).
Criteria 1. Speed
