Old Cutler Road Intersection Improvements
The proposed improvements consist of two new roundabouts (traffic circles) with sidewalks, curb and gutters, a storm drainage system, irrigation, pavement markings and signage, along with roadway lighting along Old Cutler Road at the following intersections:
- Old Cutler Road and SW 67th Avenue
- Old Cutler Road and SW 136th Street
- Old Cutler Road and SW 152nd Avenue
- Old Cutler Road and SW 184th Street
According to Miami-Dade County, the objective of the project is to provide safety and operational improvements to help traffic flow smoothly at the subject intersections and along the entire roadway network of Old Cutler Road. Funding for the projects is provided by Miami-Dade County's Road Impact Fee District 5, pursuant to Section 33E of the Code of Miami-Dade County.
The project is currently in the design phase. Construction is anticipated to begin during the latter part of 2022*
*The start and end dates of the work may be significantly impacted by labor and material shortages associated with the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic and potential weather events during the hurricane season.
Methodology & Efforts
Miami-Dade County is making all efforts to minimize the impact from the construction activities to area residents, schools, businesses and motorists. The area will be restored to its original condition immediately upon completion of the construction activities. The restoration activities will address any areas impacted by the project, such as grassy areas, sidewalks and other items affected by the construction.
