Forget Parking; Ride Freebee (On-Demand Ride Sharing Service)

On Monday, July 4th, Freebee will operate from 10 am to 10 pm to provide free, door-to-door service to Palmetto Bay residents attending the Independence Day Celebration event.

Road Closures

For the safety of our patrons, we will be closing several affected roads while still minimizing the impact to our nearby residents and business.   Read the notification to nearby properties.

To enable the set-up and other event logistics, vehicle access and parking around Village Hall and its immediate surrounding areas will be very limited  on Monday, July 4, 2022 beginning at 8 am and continuing through midnight.  

Road Closure Information

  • Franjo Road will be closed from SW 180th Street to Nicklaus Children’s Palmetto Bay Outpatient & Urgent Care Center parking
  • entrance (Nicklaus will be open until 7pm on July 4th and access into the main entrance will be open)
  • E. Guava Street eastbound access will not be permitted from S. Dixie Highway
  • Parking lot at the Hagan Building will be barricaded at E. Guava St, US1, and Franjo Road
  • E. Hibiscus Street eastbound access will not be permitted from S. Dixie Highway
  • SW 98 Avenue Road northbound access will not be permitted past E. Indigo Street
  • Park Drive and SW 179th Street restrictions
    • Park Drive will only be available for Palmetto Station tenants to access the rear parking garage on SW 179th Street
    • SW 179th Street will be available for golf cart angled parking only 
    • Palmetto Station tenants may not park along SW 179th street nor in the open field
    • We’re kindly asking tenants who reside in Palmetto Station to please head west onto SW 180th Street when exiting the parking garage on July 4th. Policing Units will be monitoring this road on July 4th.
  • All northbound traffic on Franjo Road will not be permitted past SW 180th Street– must turn east
  • Farm Store and SubKing access Only. They will be open for business.
  • SW 94th Avenue will be closed for vehicular traffic 
  • The following streets will be barricaded at the junction with SW 94th Avenue 
    • SW 176th Street
    • SW 177th Street
    • SW 178th Street
    • SW 178th Terrace
    • SW 179th Terrace

The Bus Stop on Franjo Road (SW 77th Avenue) will be shut down from 8 am - Midnight. Please visit Miami Dade County Transit for rerouting  details here.

Parking Information

There are several options available for parking.  We will be offering free shuttle bus services from and to the parking areas and the event location.  

Nearby Parking Areas

  • Palmetto Bay Park - 17535 SW 95th Avenue
  • Nicklaus Children's Palmetto Bay Outpatient Center- 17615 SW 97 Avenue (this parking area is ONLY available after 7 pm)

Free Offsite Parking & Shuttle Services

Offsite parking is available at Our Lady of the Holy Rosary - St. Richard's Catholic School, located at 18455 Franjo Road.  Free shuttle services are available to and from the parking area and the event site on a continuous basis starting at 5:30 pm until 10:00 p.m.  

Golf Cart Parking Information

Golf Cart parking is available along Park Drive and S.W. 179th Street. To access Park Drive, golf carts must enter from SW 180th Street.

Disabled Parking

Disabled Parking is available at UniVista Insurance located at 17605 S. Dixie Hwy (must enter through the US-1 north entrance) and also the Franjo Building, which will be accessible from Indigo Street- Eastbound direction.

Disabled parking is also available at the other satellite parking locations. Disabled parking decals are required to access the designated disabled parking lots.

Attention Palmetto Station Residents

Access to the rear parking garage on SW 179th Street will be accessible to Palmetto Bay Station residents only.  this will be a local traffic access road  only on July 4th.  Parking along SW 179th Street has been designated for golf cart parking and will therefore not be available.  Please refrain from parking in the grassy areas or the private properties adjacent to SW 179th Street.
