FEMA Flood Zone Designations
Following are definitions of each flood-zone designation in our area. Please note, the number adjacent to the symbol indicates the Base Flood Elevation for the respective zone.

|VE||100-year floodplain with wave action, with BFEs determined.|
|AE and A1-30||100-year floodplain, with BFEs determined.|
|X-500||500-year floodplain (0.2% annual chance of flooding)|
|X||Outside 100-year and 500-year floodplain|
- Definitions of FEMA's Flood Zone Designations
- BFE = Base Flood Elevation
- 100-year floodplain means there is a 1% annual chance of flooding at or above the base elevation
- FEMA states there is a 26% chance of flooding over the life of a 30 year mortgage for structures within the 100-year floodplain
