What Your Village Is Doing

Bike & Pedestrian Master Plan

The Village adopted a Bicycle & Pedestrian Master Plan in September 2009 to meet the future transportation needs of residents who prefer to walk or bike in the Village. It was formulated with significant public involvement, a steering committee, consisting of a Village Council member, a Village staff member, Technical Consultant, MPO Member, County Commission Liaison, Industry Expert, and Several Citizens.

Tree Advisory Board

The advisory board members shall serve for two-year, under staggered terms, serving without compensation. Each advisory board member must be knowledgeable in at least one of the identified fields of: urban planning; landscape architecture; or be a tree-related professional such as a forestry professor, nursery operator, arborist, or be an other environmental civic activist. To ensure a balanced and diverse advisory board it is recommended that at least two of the board members be a tree-related professional or show substantial participation in horticultural activities, and one be a civic leader in the community.

If you or anyone you know might be willing to serve, please complete out the application on the Tree Advisory Board and forward it to the Village Clerk. For more information, call 305-259-1234.

Protect Our Migratory Birds

Here are some guidelines to help ensure survival of migratory birds in the Village. What are you doing to help?

Village Commuter Bus

In 2006, the Village of Palmetto Bay launched a much-needed intra-Village bus service in full compliance with Miami-Dade County policy, as directed by the staff of the Citizens’ Independent Transportation Trust (CITT) and the County Attorney's Office. The service was designed to increase the number of destinations that can be reached via fixed public routes throughout Palmetto Bay and surrounding areas, as well as to connect with Miami-Dade Transit routes and the very popular busway. Palmetto Bay Garden Club

Residents interested in gardening are finding the Palmetto Bay Garden Club fits them like a green glove. Meetings are the 4th Tuesday of each month (meets September-May) at 7 pm at Ludovici Park.
