Garbage, trash and recycling collection services for all Village of Palmetto Bay residents is provided by the Miami-Dade County Waste Management Services. Any information concerning the suspension of services will be provided below and will be applicable to all residents.
Hurricane Irma Update- September 6, 2017
All waste services will continue to be delivered as normal until weather conditions no longer permit
Bulky waste pickups must be scheduled ahead of time, and the typical turnaround time for a pickup is from 1 to 9 days. Residents are advised not to trim trees or hedges at this time or begin any clean up projects around their homes, as the debris may not be collected in time.
County crews are diligently collecting previously scheduled piles and will continue to collect scheduled piles until weather condition no longer permit the safe operation of equipment and vehicles.
Residents who need to dispose of household or yard trash and bulky items are advised to take the trash to their closest Neighborhood Trash & Recycling Center (information provided below.)
Neighborhood Trash & Recycling Centers
Trash and Recycling Centers are open daily from 7 am to 5:30 pm. In advance of a tropical system, residents are asked not to trim or prune trees and hedges or create new trash piles. Bulky waste pickups must be scheduled in advance and the typical turnaround time is from 1 to 9 days. Therefore, the waste may not be collected before the storm, causing the debris to become airborne.
IRMA HOURS: Trash & Recycling Center hours are extended from 7 am to 7 pm effective Wednesday, September 6, 2017.
