Good morning, Palmetto Bay. We want to let you know that a local media outlet has broadcast a story on an issue in our Village that we shared with you earlier this month regarding sightings of feral dogs roaming our community. Be assured your Village is aware of the situation, and we’ve had no new reports of injury to persons or animals since the original reports surfaced. Again, here are the safety procedures we issued that can help keep you and your pets safe:
Village of Palmetto Bay Interim Manager Greg Truitt advises the following:
- If you ever feel your life is in danger, or you see an animal attacking another animal, call 9-1-1.
- We’d like to know the location of the feral dogs, so if you see them in your neighborhood or if an animal has been attacked, please call the police non-emergency number at 305-476-5423, or contact Miami-Dade County Animal Control Services, the agency responsible. Their number is 3-1-1.
- Please help protect your pets by keeping them inside or securely fenced. While walking your dog(s) please be sure he/she is leashed.
Let’s keep our four-legged friends safe. Thank you.
