[ARCHIVED] Village Parks To Close Tomorrow Due To Tropical Storm Eta

TS ETA UPDATE; VILLAGE PARKS TO CLOSE TOMORROW: Tropical Storm Eta's projected path is expected to impact the South Florida Coast through the Gulf of Mexico and Florida Bay. 
Miami-Dade County is under a Tropical Storm Warning; 
Flood Watch and Wind Advisory: Rainfall impacts can begin as early as tonight, and spread/increase on Sunday and Monday.  Tropical Storm conditions could begin as early as Sunday afternoon, and continue through Tuesday morning.  Rainfall through Tuesday morning could be 8-10 inches with locally higher amounts possible.  Low expectation of Storm Surge for southeast Florida is currently reported. 
Palmetto Bay is monitoring the storm over the next 24-36 hours.  Our team is ready to mobilize if necessary. 
Interim Village Manager Greg Truitt has ordered all Village parks to be closed tomorrow through Monday as the potential of tropical storm winds could pose a threat to visitors. All park programming and activities are also canceled for the same time period.
