HURRICANE PREPAREDNESS: Today is June 1st which can only mean the start of hurricane season to us Floridians.

If you haven't started already, these are a few things you can do be hurricane ready.

Be sure to take inventory, photograph your home’s contents and put important papers and insurance policies in a safe place. Keep an emergency supply. Non-perishable food, water, batteries, flashlights, manual can opener and a battery-operated radio should be kept available.

Know your evacuation route. Miami-Dade County Emergency Management will order or advise evacuations if conditions warrant this action. If evacuations are called for, it is imperative that you follow instructions in the time frame noted. Visit emergency evacuations for more information on flood evacuation, emergency alerts, and steps to take to prepare for a hurricane.
