Cuban Flag to Fly at Half-Mast

This July 11th marks the first anniversary of the civic uprising that took place in cities throughout the world against the Communist dictatorship in Cuba.  Last year, our Mayor & Council took a stance in support of the Cuban protestors demanding freedom and basic human rights by adopting Resolution No. 2021-74 "expressing Palmetto Bay's support for the heroic resistance efforts against the Cuban regime."

One year later, on July 11, 2022, Palmetto Bay will fly the Cuban flag at half-mast in recognition of the anniversary, but more importantly, to draw attention to the terrible human rights situation that continues to plague the nearby island.
