On April 30, 2024, the Village will host a Hybrid Public Informational Meeting regarding the Resilience Action Plan in our Village Council Chambers at 5 pm. This will be the first of two public meetings held throughout this process and is designed to give a public update on our progress so far while allowing guests to ask our Village staff and our consultants WSP any questions they may have.
The Village received a Resilient Florida Program grant to develop a community-wide vulnerability assessment, which will fulfill a prerequisite for receiving Program implementation funding in the future. This assessment involves identifying critical assets, assessing flood risks, and evaluating the exposure and sensitivity of critical assets to these flood risks. The Village will use this planning process to develop a Resilience Action Plan based on the results of the vulnerability assessment. The Village will identify adaptation action areas, potential capital improvement projects, and other adaptation strategies that could increase local resilience.
