Multiple Meetings Held in State Capitol with lawmakers to advance Village, State Agenda. Palmetto Bay's Mayor Karyn Cunningham, Vice Mayor John DuBois, Councilmember Patrick Fiore, Councilmember Marsha Matson and staff spent much of this week in our state's capitol. There, they met with elected officials prior to the Legislative Session to discuss Village Priorities for funding and projects. On Tuesday, February 12th, the group convened with State Senator Anitere Flores of the 39th District . Discussions included funding for storm water, a multi-modal station and a nature center at Coral Reef Park. Later that morning, they met with Representative Ana Maria Rodriguez, of the Florida Legislature representing the state's 105th House district, and Vice Chair of the Miami Dade delegation. Later, they sat down with FL Sen. Oscar Braynon,and State Representative Barbara Watson. On Wednesday, the group continued talks with FL Rep Javier Fernandez, FL Rep Holly Rachein, and FL Sen Jose Javier Rodriguez.
