Superintendent Alberto Carvalho was the Keynote Speaker for this month's General Membership Breakfast hosted by The Chamber South Education and Business Coalition. Councilwoman Karyn Cunningham has served as the Chair of the committee for two years. "The committee was honored to once again have the Superintendent as a keynote. It has become an annual event for him," Councilwoman Cunningham said. "I can't think of anyone who can better to present to our joint education and business community in South Dade. Miami-Dade County Public Schools has remained on the cutting edge for providing great private-public partnerships that give our students a leg up in the real world."
Participants were entertained by the Miami Palmetto Senior High Jazz Ensemble who performed a wide range of pieces under the supervision of their Music Instructor, Kennan Torgerson. Togerson joined MPSH last year. Jonathan Mizrachi, a sixth grade student from Jorge Mas Canosa Middle and a Miracle League player, sang the National Anthem and Veronica Benetiz, a Senior from Miami Sunset Senior High and intern with Baptist Health, introduced the Superintendent. District 9 School Board Member, Dr. Larry Feldman, was also in attendance
