Thank you to all of those who came out to Councilwoman Cunningham's first-ever Playground Fun Town Hall Meeting. It was great to hear feedback from Coral Reef Park's biggest fans. The event was covered by the Miami Herald and Community Newspapers. If you didn't have a chance to make it, see a video presentation here or check out the event photos!
Last month, the Council passed a resolution to name the children's playground at Coral Reef Park the "Bridget Allison Pier Playground." The item, co-sponsored by Mayor Flinn and Councilwoman Cunningham, unanimously passed and the playground at Coral Reef Park in District 1 will be named after the daughter of our Village Clerk, Meighan Alexander. Bridget Allison Pier was just seven years old when she died in 2011 from a massive stroke while vacationing in Hawaii with her family. In addition to the naming of the park, the playground will be undergoing a renovation as the Village has budgeted dollars to replace and update playground equipment.
