Based on a meeting held with Elections this morning and the un-official cumulative results provided by Miami-Dade County Election, the race of Vice Mayor did not receive a number of votes greater than 50% of the total number of ballots cast as per the Village Charter; thus, Palmetto Bay will proceed accordingly with a run-off on Tuesday, December 1, 2020. Candidate Cody has obtained votes greater than 50% and shall resume the seat of Councilmember. The swearing-in ceremony for the newly elected shall occur on Monday, December 7, 2020.
Please note that the Un-Official Results of the Election shall be provided by Miami-Dade County on Friday, November 6, 2020 and the Official Results signed by County Judges shall become available on Friday, November 13th as soon as all the provisional ballots are accounted for.
