DATE: Tuesday, March 16, 2021
TIME: 5:30 pm
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE: the 87th Avenue Bridge Task Force was created following the withdrawal of the Village of Palmetto Bay from the Miami-Dade County District 8 Community Connectivity Committee amid concerns over lack of support and legal guidance from the county to the volunteering members. The task force continues the initial mission of the CCC to discuss the SW 87th Avenue Bridge Project and prepare a report documenting Palmetto Bay's position concerning the project. The report is to be presented at the March meeting of the Transportation Planning Organization when its Board will be considering whether to approve or reject the project once again.
During the task force meeting, members of the public will be given the opportunity to participate virtually and to provide public comments whether in favor or in opposition of the project.
LOCATION: This meeting will be conducted using a teleconferencing platform and will be broadcast live on Facebook and the Village website (links below.) Members of the public may participate virtually. To provide public comments, please refer to the options provided below:
- Public Comments Form (option 1): Submit your public comments using our Public Comments Online Form. Forms received prior to the meeting will be read during public comments. Forms received after the meeting start time will remain part of the record and meeting minutes.
- Public Comments Live (option 2): to provide real-time, audible public comments during the meeting, please register with GoToWebinar (see box below.) Once registered, attendees will receive the GoToWebinar session information and call-in telephone numbers for those wishing to use a telephone. Telephone attendees may not participate in public comment as the system has no way to mute or unmute. Attendees wishing to speak during public comment time must use the GoToWebinar application on their desktop, laptop, or smart device. If unable to participate through the webinar, please submit your public comment using option 1 described above. A confirmation email will be sent to the registered participants with information about joining the webinar. Confirmation emails are personalized and should therefore not be shared.

PLEASE NOTE that pursuant to the Village of Palmetto Bay’s Declaration of COVID-19 Virus State of Emergency Order No. 2020-11, all Village Advisory Boards, Committees, Task Forces, Charter Officers, and staff shall continue to meet virtually.
