Our thoughts, prayers and hearts are with the families of Uvalde, Texas.

Yesterday, we lost 19 young innocent children and 2 teachers at Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas in a senseless tragedy.

Mayor Karyn Cunningham issued this statement, "as children are dropped off to start another school day in the Village of Palmetto Bay, our prayers are with the community of Uvalde, Texas, and the senseless loss of life of innocent children and school staff.  Last night, I spoke with our School Board Member and our Village Manager.  There will be an increased police presence by both Miami-Dade County Public Schools police as well as our own Village Police as we approach the end of the school year. As we learn of the needs of the families and community members in Uvalde, we will let you know how you can assist."
