A public hearing of the county's amended Rapid Transit Zone (RTZ) ordinance will be held on September 1, 2022. The RTZ ordinance affects incorporated areas of the county, including Palmetto Bay. On July 13th, the ordinance was brought before the county's Council of Policy and was recommended for second and final reading before the full County Commission without amendments. As many residents are aware, Palmetto Bay's Council has adopted policy in opposition to the ordinance. Mayor Cunningham and Manager Marano will be in attendance on September 1st to address the County Commission and reiterate the Village's position during the public hearing.
