The Village of Palmetto Bay will conduct a hybrid Resiliency Action Plan and Vulnerability Assessment Final Public Meeting on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. at Village Hall Municipal Center located at 9705 East Hibiscus Street, Palmetto Bay, FL 33157. The purpose of this meeting is to present to the public the final stages of the Village’s Vulnerability Assessment and outline the next steps in developing the Resilience Action Plan. Representatives from the Village's consultant, WSP, along with Palmetto Bay staff, will be present to answer questions from the public. Public discussion and input are encouraged and welcomed.
The Village received a Resilient Florida Program grant to develop a community-wide vulnerability assessment, which will fulfill a prerequisite for receiving Program implementation funding in the future. This assessment involves identifying critical assets, assessing flood risks, and evaluating the exposure and sensitivity of critical assets to these flood risks. The Village will use this planning process to develop a Resilience Action Plan based on the results of the vulnerability assessment. The Village will identify adaptation action areas, potential capital improvement projects, and other adaptation strategies that could increase local resilience.
