[ARCHIVED] Special Council Meeting Regarding Debris Changed to Tomorrow

PB Logo-White Background

The Special Council meeting that was previously called for Monday, October 2, 2017, has been changed to Saturday, September 30th at 10:30 am.  The purpose of this Emergency Special Council Meeting is to consider the following: (I) bulky waste pick-up throughout the Village of Palmetto Bay; (II) authorizing the Village Manager to enter into an agreements as presented to the Village Council to expedite debris clean-up and ensuring the health, safety, and well-being of those living, working, and/or attending schools within the Village of Palmetto Bay.  The meeting will take place at Village Hall.

A brief discussion ensued following the First Budget Hearing that was held this past Monday to find the best possible solution for a quick turn-around on the pick up of the unsightly debris piled throughout Palmetto Bay after Hurricane Irma toppled over trees and other vegetation.  Most of the concern with the leftover landscape debris comes from the potential of a new storm event that could cause the debris to become airborne.  The Village has been working with the county and with private companies to reach the best possible solution for its residents; in consideration of both, time span and costs.  Below is a links to the meeting notice:

If you're unable to attend the meeting in person, you may view it on WBAY or online.
